Aging and Physical Activity
Canadian
Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) - Scientific Proceedings
from the 6th World Congress on Aging and Physical Activity -
The 6th World Congress on Aging and Physical Activity
was an opportunity for the world community to share the
latest research findings in the area of aging and physical
activity. It also introduced leading edge methods on
developing, implementing, and evaluating physical activity
programs for older adults.
These Scientific Proceedings highlight international research
initiatives and programs promoting the necessity of physical
activity and exercise for all older adults including the
robust, restorative and the frail. Over 50 scientific papers
address topics from basic, applied, clinical, epidemiological
and psychosocial sciences and over 100 presentations have
been archived on a special enclosed CD-ROM. Both the papers
and presentations within this publication will be of relevance
to anyone interested in the health and well-being of older
adults. This publication will hopefully act as a catalyst
to generate interest in this area of research and foster
further international collaborations throughout the physical
activity and aging research community.
